Mechanical Doll Factory

Nothing here is vegetarian. Bon appétit.

Ah, here we are. Number 27:

Valium Era-DNA Codec

Valium Era is quite a recent find, actually. I came across the song ‘Fcuk Me’, and decided to check out some more of the songs. ‘DNA Codec’ stood out to me most of all, apparently enough for it to end up on my top 30 songs list!

There aren’t really any lyrics to this song, just some bits of German (which is apparently off of the Simpsons (?)) that I can’t properly decipher. I think the first line is ‘was ist D-N-A?’ but after that I’m a little lost.

Anyway, I hope everybody likes the song.

Happy listening once again!

Another bit of wonderful weirdness for everybody to enjoy. Above is a drawing of P.T Barnum’s Feejee Mermaid, a supposedly ‘real’ mermaid. I reality it was actually the head of a monkey sewn onto the back half of a fish. Lately, there has been a lot of new ‘evidence’ to suggest that mermaids actually exist, most notably the Animal Planet programmes ‘Mermaids:the Body Found’ and ‘Mermaids: the New Evidence’. Here are links to the programmes (you can skip through to the good stuff quite easily):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cm3XdC-p8_I
(The Body Found)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKSzgMwynDE
(The New Evidence)

To be honest, I think the footage is clearly faked (if I remember rightly, even the channel admitted that some of the clips were re-enactments of supposed events), but the mermaids look pretty damn cool, so have a look anyway and decide for yourself if it’s real or not.
(P.S. the Feejee Mermaid was an exhibit first shown in 1842. You can look it up on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiji_mermaid)
Have fun watching :)

My top 30 continued! Today, at Number 28, we have:

Pzychobitch-Electrolicious

The song in question was actually the first song I ever heard of this band’s. In actual fact, the first time I heard it I wasn’t actually that impressed. Fortunately, a couple of months later I came across it again and found that I thought it was brilliant! Other songs followed, most notably the catchy ‘Maschinerie’. I would recommend this band to anybody who likes EBM or just catchy electronic music. Unfortunately, I believe that they are no longer active (2001-2006), but a band doesn’t need to be active to be good, after all :)

Lyrics (this is pretty easy to sing along to, so go nuts):

Electrolicious electrolicious
Electrolicious electrolicious
Electrolicious electrolicious

It is electric
It’s fantastic
that automatic
it is electrolicious

It is electric
It’s fantastic
It’s automatic
it is electrolicious

It is electric
It’s fantastic
that automatic
it is electrolicious

It is electric
It’s fantastic
It’s automatic
it is electrolicious

Electrolicious electrolicious
Electrolicious electrolicious

It ain’t? it is!
we’re passionate
suckin’ in the beat
feel what’s to create
nothing left half-finished
nothing left half-finished

Electrolicious electrolicious
Electrolicious electrolicious

It ain’t? it is!
we’re passionate
suckin’ in the beat
feel what’s to create
nothing left half-finished
nothing left half-finished

Electrolicious electrolicious
Electrolicious electrolicious

It is electric
It’s fantastic
That automatic
it is electrolicious

It is electric
It’s fantastic
That automatic
it is electrolicious

It is electric
It’s fantastic
It’s automatic
